HRTPO Draft Priority Lists Identify Candidate Projects for FY 2032 Funding Consideration

Each year, the HRTPO develops and submits priority lists to the Florida Department of Transportation for consideration in the Tentative Work Program. These lists help identify locally supported transportation projects that address safety, congestion, mobility, and access needs throughout the Heartland region.

The FY 2032 draft lists reflect newly submitted applications for short-term project funding consideration. These projects are separate from the region’s larger capacity projects, which are addressed through other long-range planning and prioritization processes.

Projects were ranked using the HRTPO’s adopted project ranking criteria, which provide a consistent process for evaluating and comparing submitted applications.

The draft priority lists include projects submitted under two major categories: Congestion Management and Transportation Alternatives. The Congestion Management list includes six applications totaling approximately $5.14 million, focused primarily on smaller-scale operational and safety improvements such as turn lanes, intersection improvements, and signalization. The Transportation Alternatives list includes eight applications focused largely on pedestrian improvements, including new sidewalks, sidewalk replacement, and signage improvements.
